Finale Work for Denise Parr-Scanlin's Dissertation

When Dr. Denise Parr-Scanlin, Assistant Professor of Music at West Texas A&M University worked on her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the University of Texas at Austin, she asked me to help format musical examples for her treatise: Beethoven as Pianist: A View Through the Early Chamber Music. Denise has been a long-time friend of mine (and was Maid of Honor at my wedding) so I was honored to do some Finale work for her. Her treatise is very fascinating and I highly recommend it to all.

Denise is a virtuosic pianist and can play anything you put in front of her. An example of her fine playing can be found on the NAXOS label playing the Samuel Jones' Cello Sonata with Manny Lopez, cellist for the Harrington String Quartet and the Amarillo Symphony.

Finale does a great job of formatting musical examples that can be easily exported as EPS or TIFFs into a word-processing document. Here are a couple of examples from Denise's treatise:
